Excuses, Excuses

Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God! Then He said to him, A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say … Read more

Perfection is…?

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48, NIV 1984). However, ‘Perfect’ used in the ancient Greek language in this verse means something a little different than Mr. Webster’s definition. The Greek word here is teleos: “complete, full grown, developing.” The first two pieces of that definition indicate something already accomplished, while … Read more

Determineddddddddddd

Determined. Devotion. Focused. All words that have not been in my vocabulary for as long as I can remember somehow managed to seamlessly appear in my actions one day. I didn’t have to recite anything. It was as if all I had to do was BE and the change began to come naturally. My days … Read more

Not Knowing the Plan and Being Okay With That

You see the problem is not with Him. It’s all on me baby. See I believe that sometimes God doesn’t send a word of correction because you’re where you need to be. For example, if God continues to bless me with the money to afford my education, then it’s PROBABLY because He wants me in school right now. He PROBABLY hasn’t changed my heart about my major because it’s PROBABLY in accordance with His will for me somewhere down the road. But He is waiting on me to bring my life under subjection to Him. He’s waiting on me to be a good steward over what He has freely given me. He’s waiting on me to apply myself to the tasks He has given me before He will give me new ones. He’s waiting on me to apply myself even when I can’t see the end result. He’s waiting on my vision to line up with His. Most importantly, He is waiting on me to be okay with the stillness, still trusting that He is the same God who called the sun to set and rise again this morning. He is still the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Cleanliness is Next to Godliness

Have you ever heard that saying “Cleanliness is next to Godliness,” before? Well as I was just reading Mark 7, that phrase immediately popped into my head. Even though I’m not a big fan of phrases, this one stuck with me. It was one of those phrases that kind of scared you into being extraordinarily clean and wear white all the time because you thought that physical cleanness was truly next to Godliness.

A Devotional That Touched Me Dearly

This had to be one of the most profound devotionals that I’ve ever read so I HAD to post it. I hope it touches you as much as it touched me!   Just Because You’re Mine   But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do … Read more

Confessions of a Bag Lady

This may seem like a pretty simple topic or one that incites a “duh” response, but it is truly a topic that everyone does not know of. They tell you that basic human nature is to hide your faults from others and to even try to deny them to yourself. If you steal a cookie … Read more

What To Do After You Get Saved

Personally, I’ve been to the altar and given my life to Christ more times that I can count between the ages of 8 and 18. Not once did they explain to me, how I was supposed to live. It was all the same customary information. “Do you believe Jesus Christ to be your Lord and … Read more

Self Reliance

I’ve noticed a trend in which we as Christians say we rely completely on God, yet we still seek our own answers. I was one of those people and I’ll give you a brief testimony on that. I was the type of girl who desired knowledge constantly. I read all sorts of books, expanded my … Read more
